‘Flowers on a desk’ have been back for a while but they don’t usually appear until Tuesday, as that’s when I head to London, and so haven’t featured much in this year’s IaVoM. This week, however, conscious that I needed to head up a day early for various meetings, I thought I’d bring some cheer with me in the form of a Monday vase.
I noticed over the weekend that the Dahlia ‘Mystery Fox’ was just the same coral/tomato red as the Sarah Raven Nasturtium ‘Cherry Red’, so I plonked them in a vase, together with nasturtium leaves and some fresh green mint.
All very cheering apart from the dahlia flowers quietly collapsing (see dropped petals to the left of the picture). Hopefully I won’t be in a similar state on Thursday when I eventually head back across the water!
Why don’t you join Cathy at Rambling in the Garden to see what other summer cheer others have in their vases this week?
Oh I am so pleased you have still been having vases on your desk, Jen – although what a shame the dahlias began dropping their petals… 😦 Is it very warm in your office? Hope you survuve your extended week!
Love these colors!
That’s a lovely dahlia, even if it can’t hold its petals!
Hot colours for your hot desk (ing) nice!
Beautiful colors. Nasturtium is something I should try again to grow. Yours are lovely.
