April’s barrow

IMG_1545The main change for April is the addition of the ‘Apricot Foxx’ tulips.

I planted a lot of tulips this year in plastic pots to fit inside terracotta ones, so that I could swap them about and have a succession.  The only problem was that to get the plastic pots to fit, required sawing the tops off the plastic pots, and then chipping an interior ridge out from the terracotta.  As you can see, for this one, I’d got bored so sadly we’re left with the plastic!

I think it’s a good idea growing tulips in pots, I think I will do it for next year. I keep slicing through existing tulips when I plant new ones in the Autumn.
Sawing the tops off your plastic pots sounds a bit of a chore. I don’t think I could be bothered to do that.
